Charles Anastase : Where'd he go and what happened?

Still trying to get some info on his whereabouts!!! His site is down (I get a void message) and he's been absent for two seasons...anyone have an idea about where he went???

I've been wondering the same. Even during uncertain seasons, his website still worked. So weird. I have a feeling it won't be long before we hear from him again though.. I don't think he's been particularly consistent since he's started and a good portion of his aesthetic could use some evolution so even if it's all financial, I think such a long hiatus (for industry years anyway) can only be beneficial for a creator.

I've been wondering about him, as well. I've sent so many messages to London Fashion Week's various Twitter and Facebook accounts and never got a reply. No one seems to know. The fact that LaGarconne now finally has a few new CA pieces up makes me think he's still around but just taking a break with no shows/presentations/lookbooks but at least putting out some basic pieces.

Julien Macdonald was also notably absent from last season's Fashion Week schedule with no explanation being given.

well i see him very active on facebook and there hasn't been any kind of remarks or announcements that would make you think he's struggling. maybe he's simply given the label a rest for now and giving himself a break? the last official collection he did was spring 2012--there was no presentation but i've seen some of the pieces on the matches website. so obviously the last one did go into production.

Exactly, as Psylocke points out, LaGarconne is still carrying the line, and new items have arrived for Spring; but has it been two or more season now without shows/presentations?

I know LaGarconne was getting new arrivals from him b/c. I shop there and get the e-mails, but I didn't know he did a presentation for SS'12...I'll have to go check the Matches site. My guess is that there the same as LaGarconne, but I'll check it out.

I miss his work soooo much. SS'11 is one of my favorite shows ever...

okay weird: saw this on his FB page from 2011, left by some jerky man Iain Brodie,

"How about you pay your bills Mr Anastase? Should you intend exhibiting / showing at London Fashion Week this September, I look forward to catching up with you then!"

well,maybe he is in financial dire straits after all. i actually remember brodie when charles was on my myspace list a few years ago and i think he does indeed deal with the financials at the modelling agency.

and i went back and looked at his official,personal page and there's absolutely no info regarding his label.....????

How unprofessional of Brodie to post that on a public Facebook wall. Maybe Anastase isn't struggling but he's just being an a*s about paying his bills and that's why he's not welcome at LFW anymore?

And Scott, does that mean he used to have his label listed in his FB "About" and now it's gone or what did he change? So odd!

well he used to be pretty consistent about posting his endeavours or tidbits about his present events.....i haven't seen anything in a while actually.

I wonder if advertising his brand (presentations, having a website, etc) is compromised right now if the bills stuff is true. That would explain why it's all quite silent right now.

The comment on the FB wall does sound very unprofessional but who knows what's really happening..

i am sad, some great stuff he used to produce really great dresses and celebs like alexa chung always wearing his clothes

i remember there was a period on yoox.com where his stuff was selling for really cheap as well (all under £100 items)
