If there's one thing I think no one should have anything to complain about in this collection, it has to be the hats. I never thought I would love all the hats in this collection so so much !

The only reason Galliano has thrown in some old-fashioned underwear is so this couture collection doesn't merge into all of the other ones he's done recently.
For Winter, Richard Nicoll did an entire collection using details from antique under-garments and garter belts in a much more subtle and gorgeous way than this uninspired rubbish.
Galliano can do better. Everyone, including himself, knows it, but he isn't being allowed to do it.

And dare I say that some of this bare the same feeling as S/S 03 Galliano rtw

I like the dresses actually, by the way. And here comes the slogan of Dior from the past 3 years: PICK A COLOR!!!

Maybe Galliano himself says 'pick a color' to his clients: since he is offering so many scrumptious ones here.

When I saw the first picture I knew exactly how it would turn out...
It reminds me of a couture collection he did in 2005, don't remember if it's F/W or S/S...
Some looks are nice though, I can't hate corselets...

^^Maybe...but I'd much rather see a cohesive collection in color for once. If I can use FW 0809 couture as an example again, that collection was so incredibly strong in the first section when there was only black and white. Then he went into the pastels and oranges and pinks and blablabla...it went downhill. For a collection which is supposed to offer tailored jackets and skirts, loud colors like fuchsia and yellow mixed into one collection don't work. If it's for a loud and bombastic, dramatic collection like S/S 03 couture for example, THEN it works IMO....

I'm not a huge fan, and this is coming from one of the biggest CDHC addicts around
But I agree with a lot of what others said, we've seen it before.
And I'm not a huge fan of some of the patterns. Structure-wise, it's pretty nice, but the patterns and materials look recycled and sometimes a bit tacky
Not to mention I hate the 80s vibe-especially the hair! 1980s hair + Dior Couture = BAD Dior and couture are too good for that
Yes, we all know John can do better-just look at what he did for his ready-to-wear (namely JG, but CD wasn't to shabby) I hate saying, this, but I'm now looking forward to fall to se what he'll to for RTW
Although I do like the hats and shoes. Makeup's not too bad either, and Sasha looked great in particular
