Wow 144 people viewing this thread!

I need some time to digest this but I love his modern take on couture. The suits and pants with embellished strapless tops were the best for me.

I must agree with you. As much as I dislike what he did, I have to admit it was better than this travesty they intend to call couture.

i found the show a little boring, from the music to the runway. i wish on the live stream you would have gotten to see the other sets that they used. the clothes where nice but i felt that they where too much jil sander and not enough dior. i'm guessing there will be improvement as i'm sure it takes quite a while to jump from one thing to another.

Christian Dior is having one serious identity crisis, or a mid life crisis.

So Bill Gaytten wasn't so bad after all, was he?

I've never thought that I would say this, but Gaytten's work looked at least a little bit more theatrical than this. This was just a fixed version of his last collection for Jil Sander (putting some Dior elements on them, that's it).

It was a nice show. But not very Dior. Even less very Haute Couture.

Does he know he's not working anymore for Jil Sander? This looked like a more refined version of Jil Sander indeed...it was SO bad!
To all people who said Gaytten's HC collection was the worst in whole Dior history...can you really say this was better? this does not look like couture AT ALL

All I could think of was "Jil Sander Jil Sander Jil Sander" .... oh well..

it's quite beautiful though, regardless. I thought the set looked better in pictures though.

Absolutely stunning collection. The Galliano era is over, and Christian Dior has wiped its hands clean of him.

disappointed with how veeeery jil sander this is. i hate how he just transfered all of his jil sander ideas onto dior, including setting and casting.
i only like the updated 'new look'-pieces, they were the only ones to suit the dior aesthetics i think.
as much as i love raf, but i'm not impressed at all this time.

Some of the pieces were a bit hit and miss, but the beautiful gowns and the pink and black cigarette pant outfit made up for it. I think I like it but as MelancholyBaby said, I need time to digest it.
