His last collection (s/s 2010) was a sign of hope that maybe he had matured, cause the one before it (f/w 2009 the Egyptian theme) was not very good.

But this one seems like he's taken a step backward.

I don't think it's as horrible as most think. It does lack cohesion, but some pieces are decent.

They still look cheap though, he needs to select better materials and work them to showcase that, this has been going on for too long for him to not understand that by now.

But what's disappointing about him is that he doesn't seem to be as creative as you'd expect; maybe it was just a fluke on Project Runway. There are always pieces in his collections that you can see he's done in prior collections.

The finale dress worn by Sessilee, it looks a little too familiar to the one he did for S/S 2010:

Just how many times are we going to see the ruffle dress season after season??

It doesn't look that bad after all
I think he's been improving a bit since he started to do runway shows
The shoes are just gorgeous though!!

I'm not sure if designers are scared or just trying to be safe ... maybe a combo of both.
I am Very surprised at the lack of originality at most of the shows this season. No one seems to want to go their own way.

Its not a completly garish collection, but its not exciting either. There are a few nice peices and I like the pink ball gown, but thats about it.

And the bows that he put on some of the dresses look like the something that Dior and Prada were doing a few season back

I wonder how much of this is a reaction to the economic crisis and how scared people in general are. At the end of the day, most of these designers have to make clothes that people are going to buy, and I don't think most people are feeling innovative and carefree right now.

It's weird, the more I've seen of his work since he struck out on his own, the more I find myself wondering how he became known as the "avant garde" one during his season on PR.

His stuff is basically just pseudo-couture in the vein of Giambattista Valli, minus the skill.

Hmm....some of this is good but i think i liked his last collection more.

I don't think we should diss him though because he doesn't design clothes that are desperately trying to be innovative. Not all designers want to have that aesthetic......i think some of his designs are classic looking and don't really need much explanation.

He is still learning aswell!

I think he is doing really good but I feel that he should start going in other directions and get away from the same ruffle dress.

I do agree that he would of been better to work with one of the established houses and then eventually go on his own.
