Cool concept, interesting technique, not much to wear.

Is he capable of creating concepts that service the needs of a woman and her wardrobe? Take Junya Watanabe for example. Absolutely he is prone to having singular conceptual collections, but all of the clothes are easily worn with little or no thought. Even Rei's collections, as wacky as they can be, once broken down as pieces can eventually find their way into a wardrobe.

Kane has a tendency to make costumes and not always looking for what best suits a woman. In that sense he's like a pop version of Mcqueen but I feel with McQueen that for all his fantastic and surreal notions he hits at the core of desire. I don't know how many women are going to swoon over Kane's disc fringe and dino shoes.

I like a signature style throughout the collections of designers but this is taking it too literal and the construction isnt very flattering unless you are a size 0. It just seems as though originality is lost in the mix and so many designers are just picking and choosing from recent collections of other designers so its not even a homage but a blatant rip off.

Yikes those are some fugly shoes. No thanks. Love the scalloped black trim dresses and a couple LBDs & that silver grey dress with minimal semi-circlage.

The orange outfit with the feathers is ridiculous. I'm not feeling this collection at all.

Ok, so I've always kind of hated Christopher Kane, and I always bash his collections. And, I was 100% ready to hate this one.

butttt...I kind of like this.

I don't like the leopard. And I hate that red dress with the black maribou.

But the sheer pailettes are pretty great. And, I think the ape shirt is pretty incredible (seriously I must have stared at it for like 5 min).

ETA: Oh, and I kind of like the shoes too. They're sorta kooky and ugly, and kind of remind me of dinosaurs. But still, I can't stop looking at them. And, hey, at least it's something a little different.

I've never been a fan of Kane's work but this collection is actually quite interesting, I like the last set of pictures.

I think i'll be paying attention to him more often!

when i saw the shoes i immediately thought of dinosaurs too. i just hate the big platform...they could be really nice without it. funny how people who generally hate his stuff is liking this collection. well i love him and i don't hate this either... i just can't stop wondering what was he thinking of when he decided to use cheap leopard print and maribou... "this is a nice collection. let's ruin it."

I think this collection is overall well executed, sure it dosent translate to reality (except maybe the gorilla tees) and its hard to like but damn, it draws you in and dosent let go, so he did something right there.

Now if he only controlled his concept more it could have been less ridicilous, the see through pieces with fur trimming are truly out of place and irrelevant.

although it is growing on me incredibly there's still some things that bother me:
1- the hideous shoes that remind me inevitably of YSL ss08 golden sandals... AWFUL proportion! did manolo do these too? i thought he refused to do platforms...
2- the leopard print.... if you can't do it like vuitton, just dont do it! it looks topshop here
3- the marabu/fur/whatever it is that "embellishes" some of the dresses looks right in the powdered colours... but the red+black looks like naughty-Halloween-devil-costume-gone-wrong
i guess once i digest these 3, more will just pop up!

I like some of the black pieces, the gorillas are a bit unfitting in this collection and I can't see why those would be "funny":.

Not too crazy about all the pieces, but some of them are phenomenal!
