margielamike, I think the gold stuff comes after an interesting sequence, I dislike gold stuff too but I had a peak at the show and looks like a part of some story. I'd post the whole thing but to be quite honest, I hate nowfashion pictures .. I'll wait to see it style or vogue uk.

WOW!!! Ms. Kawakubo is taking me on a schitzophrenic ride through fashion...and I'm loving it all over again. Yeah...the gold pieces were just a mini-intro....everything else is beginning to un-fold....but it's certainly a fun and amazing ride with Rei...she's amazing!!

I'm loving this collection thus-far cuz I can see many references from previous CDG collections coming through in this collection. I think I'm recognizing some braid-work with fabric that was from a collection in the late 1990's....I'm seeing hints with the orange buttons from the previous spiral-collection done mainly in black or gray...I'm seeing leather bondage-like straps from a more recent collection where many of the models were wearing wild-colored wigs and appearead almost like a painting by Degas...this collection is sorta like "the best-hits and top favorites" of CDG. LOVE IT!!

margielamike... absolutely, although it won't be one of my favorite CdG collections, it is fun to see a lot of her most memorable past moments combined like this. the partial blazers particularly as well as the knotting, gathered strips and all.

it is a pleasure for Rei unleash on us these ghosts of CdG past, such as the heavy gathering, combining whimsical prints, knotting, etc.. particularly with Tao's recent departure and her fondness for many of these signature techniques.
