I checked Fashion File to see the pronunciation of Rochas:

http://www.fashionfile.tv/designers/Rochas.html

THAT'S how I was trying to write it out. Roashahs! Haha I don't think it makes much sense.

I don't know how to pronounce:

1) the "faux" in "faux fur" is it "fo fur", "fawks fur" (highly doubt it )

2) "laurent" as in "yves saint laurent" is it Law-raw, Lore-en or something else completely

post the words you're having trouble with.

LOL. Ever since moving to Montreal I've gotten over my problem with french words. Just remember that the last letter, if not a vowel is usually not pronounced.

Laurent is Lo-Ron
I used to live in Ville St. Laurent and I loved going for drinks on St. Laurent

No problems with fo or Lauron, but I can't pronounce bowl. It always comes out bow-ell.

Worry not. Geordies call a film a fil-um. They can't pronounce English and they are English...

But people have accents and sometimes they like to use them.

An accent I can deal with. Americans pronounce 'Mall' like 'Maul', fine. Fil-um on the other hand is just plain wrong.
