As a Pre-Fall collection, this is pretty strong and dynamic. But as a DOLCE&GABBANA Pre-Fall collection - it's a little confusing.

Why do Stefano and Domenico insist on rejecting that very sexually charged aesthetic that made them famous?

They've taken the beautiful, sexy, buxom woman (which they originally designed for) and completed oppressed her sexuality through their recent collections.

The question is: why?

This is Dolce & Gabbana?? Looks nice, but like everyone else mentioned... it does not look like the brand. Oh wells, I guess they are allowed to evolve. But I feel like they did 180 on us.

There isn't just one type of female sexuality, you know PVC and cleavage isn't the only type of that. To someone this might be very sexual. Seeing sexuality, in fashion or anything, as simply as the former kind is not very accurate. Sexuality just simply isn't something that translates to one thing only.

So in other words, I would not say that their new direction is about "oppressing women's sexuality". It is different in style, yes... but perhaps we need to look at the big picture and try to find out why this change of style before we judge? Perhaps they haven't actually changed at all.

As for the collection - well, it is not very surprising... keeps with the trends of the moment. I think they are pretty clothes, but that's about it, they are not stunning or inspirational to be honest. Not very radical from D&G.

I like this... It's very different of everything they used to do. Seems like it's a continuation of SS 09
And I hate the skirt with the dog prints

I hate all those shoulder-things, puff sleeves and so. Only piece I like is the blouson on the left side in 1st pic. I could imagine Nicole Kidman in some clothes of this collection.

I agree with whitelinen. Everyone's so quick to judge Dolce & Gabbana as soon as the skirts fall below the thigh without being able to appreciate the clothes for what they are. I think this is beautiful and sexy in its own way. Nothing innovative ( though I love the idea of a modern poodle skirt! ), but it's perfect for pre-fall. I've come to terms with the more subdued Dolce. It's only natural for a designers' aesthetic to change and develop with the times.

I completely agree with helmut.newton, and I've been feeling that way for a while. This isn't D&G. It's not sensual, it's not playful, it's not brash, it's not even especially beautiful...so really it's got very little of the brand DNA in it and that's the one thing you should never, ever abandon. Designers can experiment by trying new directions, but to give up the identity within the look is just not good.

I'd rather see them stick to their strengths and be labeled predictable than try to be something they aren't and fail.
