this collection is making me go mad and NOT IN A GOOD WAY
and people praising it is making me even more mad! of course i respect everyone's opinion, but this branding-obsesive idea of mine doesnt let me forget the fact that no much further than 3 years ago this picture below was their proposition for fall. and the night-gowns? these huge nightmares of unwearable, unbearable fabric monstrosities were inexistent!!
has the dolce&gabbana clientele lost their scalpeled-to-perfection curvy and delicious body and now hides behind layers and layers of organza? is this what the collection is about? they've changed Gisele Bundchen for what?... The Queen? (think last winter)
this is dolce&gabbana! it's not chrsitian dior! (it's not even marchesa!) and that's the thought i can't get out of my mind. it feels so terribly wannabe from them to pretend they are grand couturiers... and so it does for their all-time clients too!
everyone can do a nice dress. the real challenge today seems to be able to deliver not only nice dresses, but also pieces that show and express your individual identity. in the times when zara can reproduce almost anything that is shown in the runway, one should really consider what else can be offered. in my opinion, the only keys to success left for designers are quality and signature. and while most of these might be done in superior quality fabrications, they give this feeling that any other fairly skilled designer could have made them.

here's the pic... something to remember them by...

The huge dresses are very Dolce & Gabbana... but the other looks I still don't know. I need to see more to have a opinion.

I don't see a problem with them doing new things. How are they supposed to grow as designers if they don't? Re-hash the same crap year after year? Come on...
