That's ok, laika But how did you know which ones were made of techno fabrics? There's something that doesn't make them look similar to the other fabrics...cotton, silk, etc.?

If you go to elle.com, there's a video in the runway section where Dries discusses some of the fabrics he used for the collection. He mentions experimenting with polyester, which I'm guessing is what he means by techno fabric.

laika, this collection is so wonderful, I would want every piece! but what I would buy ... that I'm not sure until I try it on. Dries in reality can be hit or miss for me, since I'm so petite, not everything really suits me. I do really love the dress you picked. And for some reason, I'm really attracted to those leather leggings! But I think what I love most are the color and fabric combinations

gius, there was a very lovely representative from Dries who walked me through the collection and explained the fabrics.

tourist, thanks for the link! It's so rare to see Dries speak....
I have the exact same issue with his sizing--I'm just under 5'3" and normally a French 36, but the roomy cuts of the skirts and dresses tend to really swamp me.
Right now, I am having very lustful thoughts about this bag.

mmmm .... the leather looks really beautiful. Love the richness of the color against the grey

the more I look through this collection, the more I think it's a collection that will inspire my Fall wardrobe but not many pieces will find their way into my closet. Some of the volumes look nice on the right person (i.e. those double waist pants) but just won't work on me. Although, in terms of inspiring wardrobes, Fall 2005 still tops my book

So laika, what pieces from this collection did you think would work for a more petite person? You mentioned the skirts possibly (good, because I want one!)

Thanks for that link, tourist10 I'm guessing then that they've chosen more synthetics this season for their properties. I've been reading about some new fabrics these days which are able to regulate body temperature... keep you cool in hot temperature and warm in cold temperature. It's great since, as opposed to wearing a warm but heavy and scratchy woollen sweater, you can wear something a light and silky polyester and be able to stay comfortable and warm nonetheless... Thanks for the response too, laika
I might meet with an SA during the summer--I just saw a Dries van Noten dress in a shop window a few days ago; and hopefully the shop he works at will have pieces from the fall collection. Maybe he can introduce me to them

gius, that fabric sounds really cool! I can't wait to see how he's using synthentics in his collection in person. I'm curious about those quilted items.

I can't remember what thread I found this on, but here's a link to a longer version of the runway show:

I'm definitely loving the skirts. But I think the pants will be too overwhelming for me.

I like the patterns and the colors. Dries is always a little baggy, and thats what I like.

I love Dries - But some of the looks are a bit too boxy for me. If it can make Freya look kind of big, then there's no hope for ordinary thin girls!
