I had the exact same thought several times while looking at this collection. I work in a quite formal setting, but I think if one breaks up the look and styles the pieces separately, there is a lot that can be worn in the work place. Or at least we have business casual every now and again...

This isn't my favorite collection of the season or of Dries, but there is a lot of beautiful pieces that truly are "ready to wear." Either way, I can't wait for this collection to hit stores!

Loved his mix of madras checks
Maybe the destination was Madras? ;-)

^ could be! (how thrilling to see you, Hanne!! ).
Slightly reminiscent of Jessica Ogden's madras + grunge aesthetic (for APC but mostly for her own collections), non?

I've actually warmed up to the collection since I last posted here, still not fond of the styling but the way flowers peek from unusual areas like the bottom of vests, shoulders or waist is the kind of detail that I always loved about his designs. And then laika's grunge raving partially worked..

Metal teeth of carousels.

mullet,i dunno if you thought of this but i was instantly remembering the early days of a-v-h....maybe not quite as eclectic as the patterns here but the textures, the contrasting volumes....certain details like the frills and tartans.
