Just speaking from experience, i'm 21, not poor but not wealthy, and live in a major city and i could see myself or my friends buying something like this. girls i know at my age DO buy marc by marc, dvf, etc, but many only do it on special occasions - if you care about fashion, you save up for it.
that said, marc by marc and the olsen twins are two different things...i think girls are willing to shell out the money but i don't know if the fact that it's a "celebrity brand" will deter them from doing so.

Sorry but what you say is a bit crazy. They DO care about fashion and DO care about their lines. Thats the main reason then almost stop actiong. Because fashion is their PASSION, so dont be so narrow-minded by saying they just do it for money. Again, they DO NOT need it. And lifes like that some people have priviliges, SOME DONT. MKA worked for YEARS and still working now with their lines and Dualstar in general. They created an empire and thats why they're in the america's richest young girls top list.

Moreover, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to treat people who like the line and buy it as "sheeps" ? So bc its MKA we only have to say things like "OMG another celebrity brand" and blah blah? Sorry babe, you're totally wrong. I'm curious to know if you buy seasons must-haves cause if you do, i've to say that you're a sheep too. Thats fashion. People are inspired by what they see & like. And if we appreciate the line, thats not bc its MKA, its because we appreciate the clothes.

you just made my point...
they aren't' going to build a successful brand that way...they are going to need much bigger sales volume...
so they need a customer with deeper pockets and LOTS of them...
that's why i say then need to expand their target market...

i looked up elizabethandjames.com, and it's a website for a married couple...

i think it's ridiculous in this day and age not to have a website with some info at least...
the target they are aimed at is very web-centric...they want to see the line, find out where to buy it, etc.
the row doesn't have a site either...

that e&j dress above is strangely familiar...
like i've seen it on m-k before, maybe vintage...

From the pictures I really don't see anything special.. sad. Like others said it kinda looks like KM for Topshop, and how much negative press did that get?

you saw 3 pictures.. how special was it supposed to be?
not everyone can afford the row.. a second line gives people options.. theres nothing wrong with throwing two lines out there at once.. it comes down to the money aspect once again.. the theory of.. well the row isnt bringing in the bucks.. lets see if E&J does it for us.
