Not what I was expecting. The collection actually looks good especially when compared to the last few seasons. But I'm not finding myself connect with it on an emotional level.

I like many of the looks, but then again I am a fan of sheer anything.

A lot of strong pieces in this collection!
But honestly... I don't want to see any more animal prints!

the first looks look like they could be Givenchy pre-fall

^ Giles Deacon. All I can say is kudos to him letting there be a good Givenchy-esque collection this season. :p

ETA:
Just curious, where is the blatant copying of Givenchy? After noting that it looked familiar earlier, I realized that the familiariaty that I was seeing was from his eponymous line. I also see Valentino and now that it has been pointed out, I see some Givenchy but I would not call it blatant, nor would I say that the common elements with Givenchy are exclusively Givenchy.

ETA 2:
Also, I am starting to see common touches in multiple Parisian collections, which usually signifies that the houses are tailoring their collections to trend reports.

Is this really Giles Deacon's vision for Ungaro? A total "Eh" collection.

Oh God they still can't save face after the PR with Lohan fail. It really sucks for me that Peter Dundas was still their best creative director but his time was so damn short!

^ Skanky, but in a good way.

I think that the target here is more the Balmain customer than Givenchy's, and perhaps those who want a sexier and edgier alternative to Valentino. If my theory is correct, given the recent affiliation with Lindsay Lohan, this may not a bad idea.
