I think it's becoming possible to put together a theory that the focal point of this season's silhouette is the shoulder (although without being superobvious about it in a Claude Montana 80's type way).

The top sleeve is a sort of drop-shoulder, as you can see, the models actual shoulders are much shorter than what they appear to be. If you can imagine longer sleeves attached to these, the weight of the fabric would pull them down and give a very round, relaxed sort of shape.
We have actually seen an abundance of this sort of sleeve for the past few seasons, probably most famously at Prada S/S 11.
But what is interesting is the theory you bring up about a stronger shoulder without an 'eighties edge. Though I think this Fendi example is quite poorly executed, it gives an extremely interesting triangle shape to the shoulders, with diagonal lines from the collar to the cuff of the sleeve.
Maybe after one or two seasons of this relaxed cocoon shape to the shoulder they are trying to bring strength back to them in a modern way.

some of the bags are actually nice, they're not all bad. you want to see bad bags, check out the Marc Jacobs collection, those things looked like bowling ball bags.

the sunglasses are hot

i think the problem is that the hair and make up are distracting, & the styling is off. the color scheme is like watching old TV shows with the bad wallpaper that lit up the background.

Some of the pieces are pretty good, but god the cuts and proportions are really unflattering. It makes the whole silhouette terribly unappealling.

That ram horn hair is NOT sexy. Also...when did Lagerfeld become the designer for Fendi?? I totally missed something.

Yes! That is why the hair is looking a bit messy.

Those clutches with the colored fur are really horrid.

He's been working with Fendi since 1965.

This whole collection is AWFUL. Those bags and shoes are just

I KNOW, I gagged myself

it's like somebody had scrap fur sitting around and just decided this would be a good idea.

Hum ... I am a bit concerned about how youthful it looks.

I mean there are pieces for every customer but some of the bags look SO freaking young.

Of course, I love this collection, except when it gets overtyl complicated. There are a few moments where I want to say "less is more". I think it shud have been more edited.

And that black see through top is the stuff of dreams.

Personally, I like Fendi when it's simple and clean. This isn't.

That's just an ignorant comment. how can karl hate women? he wouldn't do what he does if he did hate them.

I think this collection is much more flattering than the prada mess. beautiful colours and fabrics, ok that fur dress thing isn't really the best ensamble he has designed but still there's several looks I think women would love!

Let's say I wasn't being literally serious, rather a light joke caused by the atrocious hair & make-up.

Since the S/S 11 season I'm having a renaissence of my warm feeling towards Karl's collections for Fendi and this one is yet another example. It really gains much more when seen as a whole, especially in the runway video with the gorgeous soundtrack. I also love the touch of fur with these longer vests, it's done so subtly that they're just smoothly melting with the rest.
