OMG Couture is in Pretty, Pretty Princess Hell right now. Not one but all Couture designers are basically churning out dresses that could all be combined into one terribly boring collection....

Let's hope Galliano pulls through with Margiela - about the only Couturier left who's not interesting in making a fairy-tale gown with sparkles.

99% of this is gonna haunt me in my dreams. i wanna post to the hideous dresses thread, but i honestly can't choose.

these horrendous dresses belong to the barbies i used to play with in 1989. So tacky and horrible.

Indigestible, this is just too much!
I just want to go there and remove something to each outfit...

Valli is so heavy handed like if he needs to prove something. How many meters of fabrics a dress can handle? Why ruining a beautiful dress with an unnecessary train? Why add bling to an embroidered & printed dress?

And DO WE REALLY NEED TO SEE THOSE TIRED "MILLE FEUILLES" GOWNS AT EVERY SHOW??

Terrible Couture day!

I just don't understand why Valli conflates massive, body-engulfing volumes with haute couture. It seems to be about the only sensibility he knows how to deploy to convey an aura of "hauteur" with his clothing. Were I ever to see a woman wearing one of those enormous things, I can't say I'd take her or her taste very seriously no matter how much money she obviously spent on what she's wearing.

Now granted, I've got nothing against piñatas at all -- they're great fun and who doesn't love candy? -- but they aren't exactly the first thing which comes to mind when I think of unrivaled beauty and unimpeachable quality.

Haute boredom once again...I just remember how couture was 20 years ago (1997) with the debuts of Galliano at Dior, Gaultier, Mugler and McQueen at Givenchy...and it´s just depressing to live in 2017.

The first part with the dresses with folding pleats are kinda nice I think. They look fresh but the rest is awful... this collection lacks clearly of coherence.

Alessandro Michele presented suits with creases in the same way in his first Gucci collection...so no, sadly this is not fresh.

EDIT: Well, Valli uses panels over the dress...but that´s it!

He used to create layers of tulles in such light and airy sensibility. His clothes were romantic and sophisticated. If this what sells then good for him. But, he has been showing the same thing repeatedly for many years now both RTW and HC. It's become tiring and boring. Nothing really excites me anymore.
