I like it, it's lovely. I agree, it's nothing pioneering but some people aren't necessarily looking to wear art.

I really like this - sublime, romantic
It seems so finished, something that so many designers lack. I mean that it looks like it is worth the money, not expensive solely because of the label value. It doesn't seem like it is made of cheap, trendy fabric (like the shiny fabrics of the season) put together in a hurry to resemble the faint idea of the designer. Instead, it looks like beautiful and good clothing.Personally, I am only after beauty and whatever please my whims when it comes to fashion - originality? I don't give a damn. Very, very few are original in fashion. Although McQueen and Galliano have flirted with the same style (and done it extremely well), it doesn't mean that the style belongs to them. If we really want to get to "originality", look at what Worth did, and then look at portraits from the 18th century... you'll find that these kind of dresses, like most things in fashion, are old. Old ideas, and we cannot say they belong to any particular person or his work. If something inspires you to make something beautiful, who cares where the inspiration comes from? I think the "originality" question is going to ridiculous heights in the fashion world these days. I would start thinking more about "quality" and "bad quality" than "original" and "unoriginal". Perhaps this will be one of my favourites. It is very odd because before I didn't think too much of Valli, infact I didn't pay any attention to him. Well, this collectin has been such a positive surprise. Thank you everyone for posting! |

I've discovered what he's done.
I'd feared it would happen before the show came out. He's created pret-a-porter.
