There's just something so incredibly heavy in those dresses. I don't like it. The beading looks very intricate, but it's just not to my taste.

okay so the ear and nose rings are a bit distracting, but I LOVE this. I adore everything from the fifth look onwards. The first and fourth looks are my least favourite, and I could grow to love the second and third, especially the third!!!

All alligators of the world better unite and hide! I see croc everywhere! Absolutely love the juxtaposition between light and heavy textures, dark and sheer. Similar silhouettes sure, but a breathtaking collection. I also love it's so compact every season. Eat this Donatella..

Love this. His ready-to-wear collections have grown to become forgettable, throwaway, gimmicky and derivative at times, but he is untouchable when it comes to his HC collections. These are like small treasures and pleasures to be coveted.

Every style element reminds me of another designer; the huge earrings from Galliano's "Belle Epoque" collection for Dior, the exotic, ornate noserings remind me of Gaultier's "Tattoo You" collection, and the simple tanktops worn as formalwear reminds me of Helmut Lang's styling. But somehow, Riccardo always make these fashion accoutrements we've all seen before from other designers his own for Givenchy Haute Couture, and that's why I think this is the only collection of his that really matters.

I hope he doesn't listen to people who want him to drastically change his HC silhouette and really takes his time instead, because it's clear he's creating a very specific woman; elegant but lethal, ornate and modern, multicultural and timeless.

I'm not sure I'm that impressed by the clothes themselves as I am by the entire concept and styling + jewelry. It's beautiful. Very reminiscent of Ethel Granger, minus the attention to the waist (I was actually surprised by how thick-waisted some of the models look in these dresses, but then I was probably in an 'Ethel' state of mind ).
