Finally, a shoe arrives to gratify the intersection of the two: Gola by Jonathan Saunders. The storied sportswear brand (their 100-plus year history includes dressing soldiers, Manchester United players, and Oasis) has teamed up with the young Scot on a line of casual shoes for men and women for spring 2008. The range features oxfords, ballet flats, and high-top sneakers inspired by Saunders's recent collections, including his signature palette of primaries paired with neutrals. He also gives a nod to his fondness for patchwork by contrasting textures of suede, canvas, and patent leather and employs clean, modern lines.
