Its not a bad collection, I think it's quite good, for Frida I mean. This is masterpiece compared to her last catastrophe of a collection.

The shoes are quite strong, but simple which I like. I LOVE the thigh high slit black dress, so sexy but with loads of personality.
Everything else is ordinary.

don't forget that collections from houses like gucci are always a group effort, even under tom ford's reign, people like frida, alessandra facchinetti and at different time periods, people like christopher bailey, vanessa seward (creative directress at azzaro) or giles have contributed to the overall package. it's extremely rare nowadays to have a creative director at a 'big' fashion house that is also the executive designer in every little product that the brand is selling.

i must say, talking of the clothes that we can see from these few images, i am quite happy they decided for at least a little bit of restraint and the avoidance of resort-clothing clichées such as the inevitable flowerprint. she's done that since she came in with her very first 'flora' handbags line and i think a more rigorous, clean line (and no cheap, lurex-y fabrics as in her desastrous winter collection) make the clothes appear a little more believably 'luxe' than in the past. don't get me wrong though - it's far from being outstanding.

Im really fond to cruises collections, I think they express a nice feel, very summery and holiday, and so the clothes are always optimist, even from boring brands

actually in this case, i would prefer frida to continue on the flowery hippie thing, is actually one of her best things...this time she went completely net, and it feels boring and with no flavour at all

So boring, and not even a print or some bright colour...yawn!
But this is awesome compared to her last FW09 "collection",which is one of the worst things I've ever seen from Gucci. The shoes are good like always, everybody knows Frida is a very talented accessories designer

My hands are questioning my brain, but I'm actually really liking the matching dark blue outfit with the belt.

If I'm honest, I hated the collection before I'd seen it . . semi-justified but I was surprised - it's not as bad as Armani's. That's got to be saying something !

Like kimair said, it's good by default.

Honestly it's nice to see her put the glue gun down and focus on shapes instead of decoration. It's just unfortunate that when you strip it of the the glitter, crystals and bright colors you're left with pretty average looking clothing.

And tbh, I think comparing this to Calvin Klein is pretty random, and unfair as well.

i feel exactly the same way. it looks good. no prints, no embellishments, only one pair of awful pants. but saying "it looks good" when it comes to Frida's designs, sadly doesn't mean much. well, sad, for Gucci as a brand, not for me.

gucci as a trendsetting brand is officially dead thats for sure . Her fall 2009 collection was horrid , now she is taking that givenchy look of past seasons but givenchy makes awesome pants , fridas pants are very trashy.
