Is Rachel Zoe trying to prove that she can make-under a brand as well as she can make-over some of her clients?

That's not necessarily a diss. Though I don't love it by any means, I am surprised by how intentionally austere the looks are. They're trying to make a point here...

Personally, I think Halston was overrated anyway.

And with all the attention and press and keeping in mind that they attempt to resurrect the house many times before, its completely understandable that they start out carefully.

I have to say, I am kind of curious to see where this is going...

^ basically these two from the runway (pics below, style.coM), where the shirt dresses have been modified to a wool jersey fabric rather than the silk jersey shown on the runway. apparently the items are ready for shipping at NAP; they are not pre-order items!

softgrey - you predicted one of the NAP items correctly!

Some of the pieces are absolutely horrifying.

Yet the looser silhouettes are quite nice. A bit hit and miss, but I'd like to see what else is in store.

Awful color story for such streamlined clothes, it really needs that pop of color.

It's missing the glamour that I associate with Halston and that I think it desperately needs in order to be revived.

70's aesthetic sans glitz. And very wearable (which is not a necessity per se but it's Halston and NYC). So far I like it.

Not me! *sits on hands*

I'm disappointed. I really thought this would be the time for someone to finally get it right - take the essence of Halston and make it contemporary. I think that was the goal but it didn't quite get there.

Well, if I had to chose something from the collection, it would be one of the scoop neck long sleeve maxi dresses. But only if I had to.
