Henry Holland Levi 501's - Catwalk to Shop in 24hrs
From catwalk to stores within 24 hours
By Kimberly Thrower Last Updated: 12:01am BST 03/09/2008 Just when you thought it was safe to forget all the paraphernalia of the 1990s, funky fashion designer Henry Holland brings it back to earth with a thud for his solo collaboration with Levi’s 501.  Holland, who is due to debut the 501 collection during his own catwalk show at London Fashion Week in the coming month, has taken inspiration from American youth culture and early 90s TV series such as Beverly Hills 90210 for the new ultimate straight leg button-fly jeans. Embossed with striking floral prints, and laser cut styles the male 501® Jeans by the House of Holland collection are made up of three initial pairs of jeans that are extremely different but also include bold polka dots and combined texture. Not only is Holland showing them first, the designs are literally going from catwalk to stores within 24 hours with the jeans being sold at Selfridges the very next day (Thursday18th September). Henry said “Being involved in the re-launch of something as iconic as the Levi’s® 501® is a real honour and has allowed me to work with denim properly for the first time. I'm so happy with the outcome”. advertisement The quirky House of Holland designer began his label by producing imaginative and slangy T-shirts with slogans such as ‘Do me daily Christopher Bailey’, which refers to Burberry’s Creative Director. These were cleverly modelled and worn by one of his best friends ‘model of the moment’ Agyness Deyn. Since then Holland has won sponsorship from Topshop’s new generation scheme which has enabled him to produce his second solo catwalk show at London Fashion Week this year. from telegraph.com

I hope his collection is a little more advanced this season because I think Henry has it in him do to some hot street wear. |
