how exactly is the IOC show Fellinni-esque?
Have you seen 8 1/2? There is a scene with a bunch of circus characters jumping around and stuff. I think the message was that filmmaking is a big circus.

Here's the crap: http://www.papermag.com/stylin/fashion/sho...rk/ioc/ioc.html

But this post is more an excuse to post something else in the Designers and Collection forum. The whacky writing of MICKEY BOARDMAN (PAPERMAG). I love PAPERMAG, don't get it twisted.

Look what he has to say:

"Every season we think that IoC will let us down, and every season we're wrong."

"We must confess that we were nervous about Anna Sui this season. Her show last season was so incredible, we thought it impossible for this season to be as cute. Luckily, we were wrong."

This dude needs to expand his basic rhetorics and be a bit more inventive! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, how can you write ONLY positive reviews (its true, look for yourself: http://www.papermag.com/stylin/fashion/sho...fall/new_york/) and then state it's not a particulary stellar week? i have more 80es nostalgia than anyone, but this guys gotta go. if he wrote this in 80s. fine. but not now. please. PLEAEEEEEEEEEEESE.

how can he try and put valid criticism into his writing by saying "we thought it would be crap but it wasnt" EVERYTIME HE WRITES??????????????????????? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE. he wouldnt make it throu 1 week of a journalism course at community college in cunneticut.

"Despite the cold, the schlepping and the fact that it hasn't been a particularly stellar Fashion Week, we temporarily forgot everything in the glow of another show well done by Imitation of Christ. "

he's blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Looks like the first 'semi-real' IOC collection to me, still a meltpot of diverse ideas. I'm not cutting any wrists over this

has ANYONE ever seen or known anybody who owns/wears IOC besides TS and Chloe?

How on earth does TS make money?

i read somewhere where she said it was so expensive to run IOC and that gave the impression that it was just a project.

i wonder if she is hoping someone will offer her a gig designing for a big house... Celine haha?

but seriously, is she rich or something from some other source?

In London where I live there's a chocolatebar called Mr. Tom. On the packaging it has a whole circus.

I think it's great because it means that trying to get a perfect body is a big circus. So in fact, I think the IOC collection is more Mr. Tom-esque than Fellini-esque. Also, that seems more deragatory to me, which is good.
