Jonathan Saunders F/W 08.09 NYC

I thought this show took place in London, but I guess not this season!

No, no, no, no Jonathan, just no!

And just one more point, why did you have to move to New York?! I just cannot appreciate your work in New York.

The aesthetic has changed, the fabulous prints and vibrant colours have gone, this is just not the Jonathan Saunders I've grown to adore and cherish! This cannot even be called logical progression. This is more the Anna Wintour wardrobe raiding and spitting out I'd expect Proenza to do, and even then, they do it far more superior!

YES, YES, YES, YES

this is perhaps the most incisive show of NY fashion week so far. sure, the silhouette is more grown up than in the past, but many of the saunders trademarks are present - the strong colour blocking, the architectural layering, the unparalleled accumen for tones and textiles - and I'm happy.

The collection is all over the place. I miss his usual sharpness and brightness. Ah well, he found the right city to show this in...

i'm mixed. I do think that this is for the most part a real progression of his work, it's a shame he didn't show it in london. I don't care what any designer says about inspiration, at the end of the day it's all money money money and it makes me like his work less.

awful, misplaced, senseless - badly constructed

Hate the colors except perhaps the green. A few interesting pieces, but the collection does absolutely nothing for me. Disappointment.

i like that he's still continuing with the geometric shapes, but this collection feels very... off. it's all over the place, and some of the pieces look very urm, contrived.

and that black cape look like it's a remainder from his Spring 2008.

wow i dont know, maybe the Brit designers shud return to London... Preen didn't exactly wow me either.
