I will admit I dont like the collection either with the exception of a few pieces without camo. However, as usual with Comme des Garcons there is more philosophy behind the design than simply aesthetic. Perhaps one needs to read into his work.

remember when designers had a point of view?...
and you could count on them each season to stick to a certain style...
with slight variations...
allowing you to build a wardrobe over time?...

so, in a sense, isn't that what this is?
just a slight spin on the very junya aesthetic...?
i really don't see the problem......

it's very 'street' and i totally get the TAXI DRIVER reference...
the army jkt has become a wardrobe staple and i am sure that any number of young metrosexual men would be happy to get a more stylish version of it...
one that is cut a bit slimmer or in a blazer style...
i don't see blazers in army/navy stores......

and the spiewak reference is good as well...
looks like a better version of one of their jkts...
and spiewak is good...imo...

personally...i might just get a spiewak jkt...
but the junya junkie might get one from this collection...
...

Yes, it is very street, (but very JW). Not the one that dominates catwalks now. (All designer hoodies now look like made from cashmere :-P)

Maybe he is "influenced" by Elternhaus of Berlin? They are being presented in DSM.

I actually quite like some of them in the collection. I think when people look at military/camo parka the first thing they will think about second hand or surplus stores. I feel the same at first too and can smell the odor at the second hand clothing store....but looking at some of the jackets/blazers/pants I can feel the freshness in them....the cut...the materials...patchwork pants...

these are some of the pictures from the collection that I like.
