it seems like they are jacking up the prices a lot for americans in some instances. the jean shorts here are 102$ compared with 30 pounds in the UK

Wow that's 1.5 times the price in the UK. Did anyone buy the denim shorts? How is the fit?

the only thing that really caught my eye from this collection were the gladiator shoes. But having looked online now i see that topshop has a lot of great pairs for like fifteen quid. My boyfriend is coming over to Canada next week so i'll just ship them to our house in the UK and get him to bring it over. How convenient!

for those u.s. customers who got confirmation that their order shipped, what was the time lag between the day you placed your order to when you got your confirmation? one day? two? three? same day?

gack, i placed an order but i'm leaving for a vacation next week and may miss my package (assuming it ships, ha ha)! i think this collection is cursed for me. luckily i'm not going to die over it or anything, but still...

Oh no.. I'm usually a size 6.. and I have seen this line run small size 8 are cut on the small size.

How was the material on the black dress was it like latex? Exactly how big was it?

I found the material on the black dress to be awful, it wasn't latex but more a scratchy cheap feeling material, quite hard to describe. I was expecting a much better quality material and when I tried it on today it just wasn't flattering at all and I'm a size 8 so I thought it'd be okay but I was quite put off (though it looked alright if you pose like Kate did on the Vogue cover ) I think it's one of those dresses you definitely have to try on before you buy!

fliss, i was wondering about that exact dress! that's one of the few items i am interested in...but i'm in the states (and not in nyc). thanks for telling us about it. but i wonder..even if it feels cheap..does it look cheap?

i love the pictures those of you who have bought things have posted..you look great!

based on your comments..sizing seems all over the place. if a uk size 6 in topshop is like a French 34 or US 4 in H&M..then it will be too big for me. do the dresses in the line run small for the most part?

You're more than welcome elschic! To me it just had no sort of shape to it which I think made me dislike it. There was also a thin bit of material underneath the top layer which was strange and caused it to become a little oddly shaped. Overall I think it did look a little cheap but it had potential to look better than it did when I tried it on, just as long as you're willing to work at it! In my opinion it's not the sort of dress you could just throw on and it look great, unless you're a model of course!

For the Americans who want a piece of Kate and don't live in NY, in DC I just walked past the Barney's Coop in Georgetown and they have a display of kate's face and a mannequin with a pic of her face, and a huge sign saying it will be coming May 9...so I guess more than just the Barney's in NY will be carrying it.

I guess Topshop knows very well how to push consumers buttons but I'm afraid they only sell dreams/fantasies (ie if I buy a KM top, I'll have a bit of the KM magic dust on me and maybe my life will be more glamourous -in very simplistic way of speaking-) But here they really push it to the max (if I consider the reports on the material/fit). imo they're completely taking the pxxx. Now of course every consumer makes the choice or not to buy a piece of the KM collection and it's up to them.
gardenpea, the credit for posting the article here belongs to Avant Garde, I was merely agreeing with the article.

Is this the case of mass manipulation through celebrity endorsement? Phillip Green (Topshop's head honcho) must be laughing his way to the bank.
