What exactly does one call fishnets, garter belts, open blouses and shiny bras besides tacky? :p

because you have seen it before. a lot of the outfits remind me of a cheap (and badly imitated) version of dior s/s08. one outfit reminds me of something freja wore at chanel london. i even seen some lanvin...

i think this is the first big show for KLS. there really isn't a look for it yet. This collection is way too over the place. Some pieces are tacky, those leggings and shorts for instance. But some pieces are very good, especially for Kimora.

I think people see Kimora's name and they brace themselves for tacky-town.

hopefully when we get pictures of the show in order, then maybe the collection won't be as random.

but i give kimora points for trying.

I don't see how that could be misconstrued as being biased against her for no good reason, it's merely a personal opinion that a number of people happen to share.

If she'd stop consistently producing tacky runway trinkets, I think people would start associating her name with something...other than all things tacky. This lady has unfortunately made a name for herself by doing so.

Her demographic is very specific and tends to be "urban"...I mean that in the American definition of the word. Not the normal definition...

I think when we walk away from a "big name show" with this opinion...something is horribly wrong (with he designer/label). I've also seen people here say "it's not so bad FOR KIMORA".

I think these comments are very telling and, frankly, unacceptable for a designer (unless it's Cavalli). Our criticism should be better, more polished. Meaning, it's the designer's responsibility to evoke more polished critique.

Even Cavalli doesn't leave me walking away wondering "what the hell, that was all over the place!".

It's as if this person is a child and allowances must be made for her as a designer due to her lack of maturity/savvy.

She is just as responsible for putting out a quality product, a cohesive line, tailored pieces, and an engaging show...as the next designer.

Honestly, I think the main problem here is that her product is cheap, tacky (as usual...I actually think that's her aesthetic/demographic), vulgar, and low-budget. BUT, she keeps putting on these shows! And the people that are watching aren't expecting to see this sort of garbage at a fashion week show. So our expectations are much higher.

And then we're bombarded with...this. Frankly, I think she needs to stick to churning this stuff out because it's obviously doing well in her market...and stop showing at Fashion Week. I think she does herself a disservice by doing so.

On the other hand, she does have us talking so...and they do seem to believe that any press is good press, soooo......

This is an improvement from her previous showing of KLS. It is not a great collection but it is also not as horrible like some of the comments on here have claim it to be. She does a good job of mixing classic feminine looks with an urban flair and if that is "tacky" to some well.... My only problem with Kimora is why should she walk down the runway after the show like she had a part in the designing process. Whether it is bad or good I want the person designing the clothes to receive this attention and not Kimora who all she does is boss her staff around.
