HAHA...

What Alber did was to take the old Lanvin runway lookbooks and pick up few pieces he likes, then do something on it.

So, does it mean people who can't afford latest Lanvin collection should go straight to outlet and buy old collections because it's still chic basically and most of wearable pieces are just too familiar: black dresses, single shoulder dresses...OOPS, isn't that what we see from the collaboration.

From SS08 to SS10, you would be amazed that how many looks look alike.

For some reason I feel as if this is the first H&M Collaboration many have followed. Otherwise they would expect it to consists mainly of repeats from pass collections with a few new pieces. Maybe Jimmy Choo gave the wrong idea since they have never made clothing before but some of the footwear were repeats anyway.

mehhh ive been to so many of these launches at oxford st. I went to cavalli and jimmy choo and williamson. At the end of the day its ALL HYPE HYPE HYPE. two weeks after the collection is released you're left with an item you look at and think nothing more than a cheapy H&M item with someone elses branding.

Its a cute little memory or a snapshot of a season but if i saw someone with say...a cavalli/H&M item NOW... i'd think 'damn thats O.L.D'...and kinda tradge.

What I WOULD like to see would be something for example...a vivienne westwood collection, available solely in london (or say a chanel/h&m collab available only in Paris)...Using GOOD quality materials and really being a bit innovative...in a mainstream way. That still keeps the items interesting and accessible to the masses...but also gives it some genuine authenticity.

I'm pretty sure it was 30 garments and 20 accessories in the womenswear, and then 20 garments and 15 accessories in the men's. I think that was the figures...

I'm disappointed so far, I expected something new and not so obviously re-interpreted by the designer. and those print dresses look more H&M than Lanvin, which is not a good thing anyways.....

since you ask...

they tend to be given out only with a purchase of the collection pieces. when you buy regular H&M stuff during that time, you get the regular plastic bag.

Albert said in the introduction videos that they were doing old things. So I've had prepared myself to see familiar pieces, but I didn't expected to be so excited.
The prints on the new shots are freakin awesome, as well as the accessories.
I don't want to start finding from which collection this dress or these shoes come from, I just want to enjoy the moment.

as there was an outcry about how Lanvin could possibly pull off something high quality with H&M prices

http://brieuc75.typepad.fr/soundtrac...obre-2010.html

a guy in Paris went to a Lanvin sample sale, and leather jackets which originally sold for 2000-3000 Euros went for 300 Euros. a lot of 3 ties sold for 45 Euros. 300 Euro shirts selling for 50. lace ups for 100 Euros a pair.

now, i could be wrong, but those prices aren't too far from H&M and Zara prices, and i believe Lanvin still made a little profit from that sale.

here is an image from the preview invite in NY on the 18th.

simonchilvers twitpic

the acne/lanvin collaboration bombed here. there were racks of the items at the barneys warehouse sale in NY this summer. they are now in my city at a discount store for 99$-199$.
