That's so weird... no advertising yet and out a few weeks early? I'm excited though, I'm probably going to order a few things this afternoon. There are some really cute tops and I love love the blazer! Thanks for letting us know.

I'm inspired by the blazer/striped tee/jeans look -not in a "oh, I never thought of that" way, because it's pretty basic and generic, but in a "ok, time to get back to basics" way, 'cause she looks so good!

After selling out and making millions, you call that failing? Ummm...ok! She actually stopped making her line so she can re-think the brand.

Any-who, the Kohl's line is cute. Its very LC, I see a few pieces that I'm definitely getting.

i hope to see more from her kohl's line. i mean i like it, it looks so comfy/classic. however, i'm disappointed in the fact that there is nothing special about it. it's all stuff that you could get anywhere already.

As for the Lauren Conrad line, I think people forget that it was pretty successful (selling out in online boutiques, being popular at high end department stores, etc) before her prices took an inexplicable leap with her last collection.

Well, it is a line for a large chain. The goal is to appeal to middle America. Being comfy/classic and not deviating too much from the norm is kind of the point.

I have no doubt it started well, but surely if it was that much of a hit, she would have continued the brand? Fashion isnt something you can afford to go 'oh im bored now, i dunno what to do, so ill just leave it for a bit'--half the industry would like a nice break but it doesnt work like that. I imagine the only option was to put it on hold, for financial reasons. But im simply speculating--so dont lynch me!

ID like to see her do accessories and branch out....i imagine she'd be great at jewelry and stuff...I doubt that would trail off after a few seasons.

She couldn't continue the brand because her deal with Viacom/MTV (who were financing her line) was that they would finance it for 2 years and help her get started, then she would own the brand. They did finance it for 2 years, they made the major decisions (fabrics, price points, etc), and then the two years were over. She probably realized that now that she was in charge and would be financially accountable, she'd not only have to find new backers to invest/help her finance the line, but also find a way to lower the price point and be able to work with more fabrics, etc. She always hinted that she was limited by MTV.

She did do a small accessories line for mark. - she collaborated with them last year. According to reports, her Kohls line (if it sells well) will expand to include jewelery, handbags, shoes, sleepwear, etc.

She'll be guest judging on ANTM tomorrow and will be presenting at the VH1 Divas show with Whitney on Thursday.

IMO she just didn't want to work hard, so she closed shop and gave her name to Kohls where they would do the vast majority of the work and she would make millions.

I have come to realize that Lauren is not as passionate about fashion as she led us to believe earlier on... it was just an angle her people used to market her in the media. However, I do think she is business savy.

I read an article on the times that reported her line made about 5-10 millions its first year in sales... Viacom would not walk away from a profitable business and Lauren could have made the production changes without putting the line on hold or cancelling.

IMO she has been consistent in showing her lack of interest in fashion. I mean she is currently in NYC during fashion week and she hasn't attended one show. This morning I was on twitter and she wrote something about a movie... I couldn't image being in NYC and have the ability to sit front row at Marc Jacobs and instead chose to watch a movie... I would go just to be inspired.
