Lutz Archives
since we don't have any threads pertaining to Lutz pre-2003 and he's got some films up now on his YouTube page,i thought i would extend these to you all here as a specially dedicated thread for all things Lutz.

Ahh, how wonderful.. we should have a thread for all these smaller/independent designers/labels to compile the material that comes up every now and then and that, unfortunately, always ends up disappearing. That F/W 03 collection is probably my favorite..

I've never hear of Lutz until I got an invitation to the sample sale this week. It looks pretty cool, I'll definitely go.

funny story about that last coat with red fringe....i was reading a post on Lutz's Facebook and he was saying that he only made like 30 of those coats and said he was actually surprised he sold that many as it was so expensive to make. and the last one is the hooded version too...an even rarer piece.

yes it seems that the fringe coat was his favorite from that collection. according to his explanation on the shiseido site he was inspired by shadows. the fringe as the shadow of the coat.
btw, I remember carol too did some fringed items that season although they were really the warp of the fabric with all the weft totally dissolved. some called it an afghanhound look.

.........

that's a great comparison runner!!!...
:p...

i really love the fringe coats myself...
i'd wear one, for sure!!!...
...

*i just know from experience that long fringe like that can get really tangled...
it could not be an 'everyday' coat for that reason...
would have to be saved for special occasions...

^yeah lutz was saying it was really hard because people had a difficult time being able to hold a cigarette without it burning the fringe. definitely an event piece for sure.

how about customizing it by adding a little pompon to each fringe end
