This !

Also I have to mention the makeup which is amazing. It's so nice to see Pat and John still collaborating.

Because this aligns perfectly with Demna's aesthetical preferences right? What you're saying is totally misguided John and Demna are two completely different desginers, with a radically different mindset and background designwise. Why would Demna be interested in doing any of this? Is that the only way in which he could prove his talent to you?

People can dislike his work and all but that doesn't make this sophisms true or anything, they hold as much water as a vase.

This is precisely why we need Galliano now given the current state of fashion.

I've loved most of what he's done at Margiela to this point, but this is by far my favorite.

Yepp. He would like to be but as designer he is not really talented one.
Galliano is a Genius , Demna is a clever businessman.

Demna copied Margiela for his Vetements. Sincerely, i don't think that collections which he does are really his aesthetical preferences. They might be an aesthetical preferences of many people , surely, they are - but i'm not sure Demna "in love" with his Vetements Women.
If he is not interested in doing this so why we see same and same on the runway?
I wrote in another thread what i think about it :
Demna is brilliant, he offers same and the People doesn't understand that all is about "DHL" t-shirt, i mean he copies and copies ... and he make People believe he create . Brilliant! But as designer he hasn't talent.
Waiting of Balenciaga Women.

This collection if anything, looks like Westwood. It has very little to do with Margiela-I'm not the first one to bring this up. That's why I think the comparisson is lazy and unfair. Also although you put my questions in bold, you went off tangent.

WHY does he insist on the trash heap look at Margiela? Sure, that was part of Martin's lexicon, but so was resistance and quietness. Why not explore that for a change, but done in a Galliano way? To me that would mean great tailoring, his exaggerated takes on classics like the trench coat and some flattering bias dresses.

Restrained baroque. Only Galliano could pull this off!

Really really great collection! I love how he has infused a lot more color into the brand!
