Thank you kuba01 for the HQs, the leather wears are so delicious. I just can't say no to Marni!

The hats were stupid and I couldn't see any person wearing one and looking chic :

*The hats look postively ridiculous. For some reason, they remind me of the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz!

However, the rest of the collection was very wearable and chic, with its loose shapes and laid-back aesthesic. The dresses at Marni this season were a deifinite stand-out.

luckyme do you mean bamboo print in the brown checker-like dashes that sasha pivovarova is wearing?
i have the 'watercolor' one... i was gonna post it at flourishes&finery, but i thought it was kinda plain. i like the technique though... anyway it is all up at Marni

I don't know remember what they look like, they were described to me over the phone and I am having them sent. I didn't see them in the lookbook, or at least I didn't recognize the patterns as bamboo and watercolor but the saleswoman said they were beautiful prints. I'll take your word for it though, thanks.

I love Marni! I think it is indeed a little quirky but also artsy. Color-wise they are using "colored" grays with few stronger colors as highlights. This is a technique used in painting too. "Colored gray"= a "broken color" meaning you can mix every possible color and then add a bit of white and there you have it: your not so basic black&white but colored gray! Love this technique (it took a year for me to learn how to really use it) love Marni too!

If possible, maybe you could post them here too aftewards ..
I was just at the Marni website, and it looks like the clothing with the prints are gone...
The watercolour print looks like squares done in grey watercolours, and they overlap eachother, so you can see some transparency. And I'm pretty sure the bamboo one is the brown checker. They always label the names of the designs (like the special colour or the name of the surface decoration) at the website

I wish I could show it to you myself, but it is on my other computer..and I won't be returning to it till after a month
