I love Margiela's stuff, from all of his lines - I think 14 is my new favorite though.
Actually the idea is not of "simple clothes" but what Margiela believes should be the classics in the man's (14) and woman's (4) wardrobe. Therefore you won't find much variations between the seasons (not that you find too much variation to begin with)...

the first picture up there is not margiela, but i believe the drawing is, he has small eyes and quite a round face. There's a picture somewhere on catwalking

On monday i saw a woman on the subway wearing a version of those things (the leggings/ shin guards) over slim fitting denim and boots and they looked absolutely fabulous.
they could be produced as high end leg warmers.

as per the drawing.
that could be him, years ago in 1997, Vogue (US) did an article about designer appointments at Luxury fashion houses it was:
Galliano at dior,
Kors at celine ,
McQueen at givency
Peter S. at Cerruti
and Margiela at Hermes

in the article, there was a more refined images of that same drawing.
believe me, PPl in the fashion industry knows what he looks like.

I have to admit (at the risk of getting torn apart here) that Margiela's stuff never really "did it" for me. It's always very basic and although that has its place, it's just not "special" to me.

I do like the fact that he produces the AIDS tees regularly and that proceeds go towards charity, but all the leather items with the pen graffiti on them, and the vintage reissues I just don't get. Perhaps I've just not seen a good enough mix of his stuff?

He's been having a quiet rebirth in my book. Ever since he moved the most basic stuff to the 14 line, he's been going back to his quirkiness in the 10 line. But, yea, a lot of it still very basic. Can't knock him though - throughout his career he's produced some of the best and most innovative garments outthere, and some of the most innovative ways of presenting them (those much talked about covered model faces from the FW07 Undercover show - where do you think Jun got that from ) - fashion wouldn't be the same without him.

^agreed. 0 and 10 have regained that irreverence that MMM's main-lines rendered so much throughout his incredible career.

Yeah,I think you need to research his work a bit more in-depth because basic is only a miniscule of the whole of his work. Get his book!

Some new bags. The quirk is the images of things that could actually be carried inside the bags .

from leform.ru

and of course where would he be without utter silliness? bag/toy - my daughter has one, but I'm sure it did not cost nearly as much as this one will...
