I'm sure some of you know about this (I know Scott does), but MMM has been producing a t-shirt for a number of seasons now, always with the same design, but a different color every season, with the sales proceeds going to an AIDS charity fund. There is a print on the shirt that starts at the bottom of the back and continues through the top front (just imagine a t-shirt being folded over), which reads something like "There is more to be done about fighting AIDS than wearing this t-shirt, but it's a good start". The t-shirt is inexpensive, $45 in the US, 20 GBP in UK. I own two, a blue one and a brown one, and I am planning to get a third one this season. One I got in NYC and one I got at Harvey Nicks while visiting London. If you choose to buy one, find a retail who does not overcharge you (some stores try to sell it for $75, not nice to make money off of something like that!). Anyway, I'm providing a picture from of the current season's color, and a short list of retailers (that I know of)

NYC

IF Boutique, Seven, Steven Allen (Barneys and Jeffrey try to sell them for $75, bastards!!!)

London

Harvey Nichols

I am sure you can find one in stores that carry MMM.

(i've also seen some copies of those..erhh how we say 'inspired by MMM')

I've got one, most certainly. Mine is the one from Spring 2002;a putty blue with a light fleshy-coloured pink in the painted text. And I got it from Louis in Antwerp for 40€. So no,not very expensive at all.

They're very trendy with the fashion crowd I've come to notice, mostly in Europe as Lena said, especially with MMM's fellow creatives. Lutz wears one all the time as does Marjan Pejoski.

Here is Steven Alan website. I won't go digging for IF's number unless you'll have no luck otherwise, because lately their salespeople started annyoing me with their "Holier than thou" attitude.

stevenalan

You're in LA, right? I remember a small store on sunset strip across from H.Lorenzo, they carried MMM, you might want to check it out.

I checked them out yesterday. Harvey Nich's was selling them for 30 pounds while Liberty was selling them for.... ....sixty pounds! I couldn't believe it! My friend and I were horrified.

That makes one's stomach turn. I mean for something as the charity it goes toward, they have the audacity and calousness to raise the general price tag?! Of course,I suppose that happens with those snobby 'exclusive' shops, non? Mehg,I think Pineal Eye also sells those t's if you want to check them out....they seem less, how do you say, arrogant.
