^the only problems I've seen in the partnership is that the quality went down slightly in the mainlines. But I do adore that it's allowed him to use this one for his semi-couture approach we all know of him. The funny thing is,is that this used to be one of his more conservative, simpler lines.

you're welcome softgrey, Scott, Lena

I guess those who actually buy this stuff could be more of collectors.
and yes maybe it doesn't matter in the grand scheme so much itself.
it would be like for a car maker to participate in F1.
it might be some feedback and profits attendant on it which can be returned or applied to the main that are more important.

but anyway those pieces do go into production.
apparently they make 10 each on the average,
and deliver one item for women and one for men monthly.

^I love that piece. It's kind of like a blossoming orchid but with a sort sci-fi tinge.

But to what you are saying,I think artisanal is much more about quality than quantity(sorry for the cliche). I like the exclusivity of it all....it's difficult to create the most special of things at a commericial scale and that's really what he does best, imo. And frankly,I feel that's where his soul is truly at. He's been doing this exact thing since he began.

I love it. It all looks like a lot of care was put into making and displaying it, and the white pouffy chiffon top/white dress next to it is a sight for sore eyes.

it looks to me like a deep-sea bride Scott
what I was saying is about whether for it to be bought by anyone is of critical importance.
the bottle cap vest, for example, left at Margiela Tokyo may be difficult to buy for ever.
if there were any reason they keep making it still, besides the passion etc.

generally $8000-10000 for jackets JJohnson

well, remember those waist-coats from some years ago made out of broken china? I think these kinds of pieces are more for experimentation...showpieces,perhaps? I'm assuming he might just want a bit more of a balance....a kind of distinction....since his mainlines have gone in a more commerical direction he wants to keep a sense of that idiosyncratic continuity. that personality that we all know of him.

that's a beautiful jacket. looks like recycled trench belts. that reminds me of that extraordinary biker jacket he did....all patchworked and sewn together by hand. that piece I think recall was selling at about $9k. It was so painstakingly, intricately made,it's definitely justified.
