Martin margiela Line 0/10
Have anyone seen this Margiela jacket/coat in person? It said it takes 4 days to make one. I would love to feel and touch it in person.. And look at the price...

Well if it follows in line with the other artisanal 0/10 garments then maybe none, in a direct sense at least. It's probably made from twenty or so "recycled" fur coats from who knows where.

Not that this would make any difference to an anti-fur person (is this how they refer to themselves these days?), unless they are Stella McCartney of course!

I love that jacket!! 13k...doesn't sound that far-fetched to me considering the amount of work going into the construction of such a piece. And I'm assuming since it said 4 days and it's part of his artisanal collection all of that construction-stitch and seam work-was done by hand.

Arpege, you might be right about the recycling. As with most everything in that collection...he does indeed recycle alot. I like that. To be honest,I'd rather see designers recycle old fur than to do completely new pieces. Somehow, there is a difference to me... first, they're old(probably made aeons ago) and second you give those old pieces a new life(if done in the way that MMM has done or what Preen used to do) without having have harmed new animals. Hypocritical it may seem but I don't believe in letting things sit with no life at all. Besides, old fur is more attractive to me for some reason.

^I guess you like Vincenzo de Cotiis' work? He tends to recycle a lot in his fashion design and interior/architectural design, for the same reason you like it...to give things new life.

I wonder where they get their recycled garments from? Watch it be an old Fendi

hmmm... i think i like that vest... conceptually...
it sounds a bit unpleasant... but it does not look as bad as it sounds...
definitely looks better than it would if it wasn't inside out!

what do you mean by "odd" ? ... magical margi isn't stupid... it's not like the wig hair is still there... it's cut off and the inside is lined in what appears to be brown cotton (but it may be silk)?

i love it; it's gorgeous; i'd wear it

don't get me wrong Brian, I do like Margiela a lot sometimes....however, its not exactly commonplace to wear wigs turned into garments...thats what I meant by 'odd' (and its not entirely clear from the picture alone that the hair is cut off so I defer to your explanation there). Even still I don't think i would feel entirely comfortable wearing outside in wigs....maybe I am too conservative & boring though.
