i saw the high heel slingbacks in the store this weekend...in a nude lthr...
a really perfect shoe....heel just the right height and thickness to be sexy and yet comfortable...
toe opening just enough to be sexy without being tacky...and a slingback is always good imo...very chic...
i know that expanding footwear is part of the strategy to build the brand...and i think they're doing a good job...i think the split toe ballet flat is actually adorable too...

Margiela has never been a designer I have bought.
I appreciated the concepts behind the clothes and thought they were interesting, but the finished product often "Fell short".
That being said, he still has some amazing pieces from time to time but most of what I've seen has been for women.
I think people will have to accept that Margiela isn't the avant-garde boy he was 10 years ago, but he is a man with a company to take care of. This results in a more serious, wearable and therefore accessible approach. Every year they slightly twisted and changed the house from its original approach, I actually think that whole process is interesting. Let's not forget it's a brand and although the approach is very different from most luxury firms it's also part of their marketing, brand image and customer base. Without sales there's no Margiela.
