UNDERSTANDABLY when we say the name de la Renta most fashion fans automatically think Oscar, but there is another member of the family on the design scene - and his creations are coming to a high street near you. Moises de la Renta, son of the famous designer, has created a limited edition collection of T-shirts for Mango, with a whimsical inspiration.
"My inspirations for this collection were the traditional romantic themes: from pretty patchworks with summer flowers in sombre colours, such as rose, violet, grey and black, to graphic illusions which combine transparent effects, with shiny gems and adornments in between," Moises de la Renta told VOGUE.COM.
Aged just 25, the younger de la Renta fuses his father's classic aesthetic with a younger rock and roll edge. The T-shirts arrive in store this month priced from £25 to £45.
Fashion is not about utility. It is merely a piece of iconography, to express an individuals identity.
