I could literally find that dress in a goodwill and just sew little embellishments and stones on them.

I'm not sure about the $68,000 figure but the material does look pretty special:

^^unless those beads are all spun from gold, there's no way that dress is worth $68,000
It's pure insanity.

compared to the 68K dress, those other prices look decent. Although I'm not too sold on that nearly 4K tulle piece.

This t-shirt is made out of what Veronique Nichanian described as 'Crocodile chiffon'. Crocodile leather dyed and worked until it has the qualities of chiffon, I presume.
I don't think I'd ever pay £60k for it, but I'd love to try it on..

I wouldn't call that gown absurdly overpriced, I mean it's Chanel afterall and the craftmanship looks spectacular. Regarding the Luisa Via Roma posts, I'm actually more schocked by the models choices than by the questionable prices of the clothes.

^ yes that's super expensive but, as mentioned, it's chanel, plus it's almost couture - look at the crafrmanship, the details, the design itself. Plus, it's still cheaper than the SLP babydoll, it's a catch!

The thing with the Chanel dress is the time and craftsmanship that went into the piece, the wool aspect to the dress is sourced from Scotland and then it's finished off in Paris in the atelier but another aspect to the price is the exclusivity since Chanel produce a very limited number of pieces worldwide and they are sold exclusively in Chanel Boutiques, which the same cannot be said for the likes of Saint Laurent who not only sell via their own boutiques but also distribute through department stores and online retailers, which for some brands 'wholesale' is essentially what makes up for most of their yearly turn over.

If anyone is need of a $1,500 straw hat, Céline's got one with your name written all over it (but not really because it just looks like any other straw hat)

As much as I love Céline, that hat's price is embarassing.
