Just for fun I called the Prada store and the shorter version of the coat is 60k and they're all made out of "fisher" fur.

It's simple. This coat will appear in US Vogue and rich women will say OMG, I need this coat in my life.

^And then they'll head to the store, find out that it costs as much as a modest house or a luxury car and go on without this coat in their life. Rich women can be excessive but I seriously doubt they'd pay almost $150,000 for a mink coat.

I remember trying this jacket on last year, it costs £100,00. Completely beautiful but the profit margins on exotic skin and fur pieces are just exorbitant !

JustABoy: No designer item is really "worth" it. That's the point of designer items.

shanhuq: Hmmmm.... so, it's a cheaper mink at a premium price. That's the irony of Prada... (Shorter length? That just won't do: The full, sweeping length is the one.)

Still think it's the best fur coat around. For a certain circle of women, that price is of no concern.

It's a nice jacket and I love that powder finish to the exotic skin, Marc Jacobs did that powdery yellow alligator jacket for Vuitton back in that carousel collection, it also ended up in this thread - it's an expensive finish
Who's the designer of this jacket?

The 60k version of the Prada fisher coat (which I think is nicer)

As much as I love fashion and the fact that one is a killer coat, but I'd rather spending my 140,000 for cars :|

All the fur talk about the coat made me think... Does anyone know how much some haute couture house ( say Valentino) would charge for a coat like that if Prada has prices like that. Just curious.

Anyhow, there are people who are bulletproof even in this economy and who would drop €80k for a coat, even if it was one of those neon abminations that make me think Anna Dello Russo would have *that* in her closet. So pretty coat like that would find a place in someone's closet, I'm pretty sure.
