59% cotton, 30% rayon, 11% nylon...that's right, $50,000 for a rayon and cotton nurse's outfit.

No to that Thom Browne jacket thing. I'd rather spend that amount on Celine coats

That's insane! Why would anyone pay 50,000 for cotton?

You can't judge a fabric solely on it's source material anymore.. polyester isn't only a cheap horrid fabric, but nowadays they could make a more expensive fabric from it than silk. You don't just pay for the cotton, but also for the fabric design, the weave which might be a very difficult one, all the treatments the fabric might get.... not mentioning the price for the creation of the garment itself

To say that polyester is only cheap and not worth a lot of money and that silk should always be expensive an better than other fabrics is such an incredibly dated opinion. (sure there are still crap fabrics from polyester, but it's not just an ugly synthetic fabric anymore..)

Even so, I don't see how this is worth $50,000. I just don't see it.

^^ It can be the most incredible, expensive polyester in the world, and it still won't breathe.

Looks to me like the Thom Browne has a great deal of hand-beading, but sadly it's still ugly. Hope the beaders were paid well.

After checking the detail, i kinda agree with the price even though i don't like that dress. I think it's all about the craftsmanship on the textile, the fabric and the construction inside and outside of the dress.
