I really like the heel portion with the buttons and that beautiful light blue color. The bedazzled toe portion though...what a shame they went overboard.

for real? I would not pay 100$ for polyester, well, I detest polyester . I can't believe anyone would spend almost 3 K on a polyester dress, even if it from Saint Laurent

Odd since the press and figures show how much Saint Laurent sells but why would anyone spend that much money on that material?

With polyester you can create so many interestig fabrics and textures. We're in 2015.

Also the fabric isn't pretentious like silk

As long as polyester still cause static I am not going near it. No way. Polyester today can look and feel a lot like silk though. If they can install some kind of earthing system in the material I will reconsider it

how is silk pretentious? silk is by all means a better fabric, especially 'fine' silk.

well, I never wear polyester, if it is a mix of polyester and some natural fibers, it is a different story. If I see a garment on a hanger that looks pretty but the hangtag says it is 100% polyester, I will not even try it on.
I just think that for non-athletic clothes polyester is horrible. When you are hot, it makes you feel hot, when you are cold, it makes you feel even colder. It is not pleasent to touch, it makes me feel itchy and sweaty, even if the quality is good. Nothing beats natural fibers, nothing, only a mix of them with other fibers to achieve additional properties like an ability to stretch, etc.

The thing about polyester is that it's relatively cheap to manufacture. So the fact that something made from a cheap material is priced higher than actual silk in some cases is a little ridiculous. In this case, you really would be buying it just for the label.

My problem with expensive garments made of common synthetic materials is that the material is cheap to produce, so you can't justify the price. The reason most natural materials are expensive is because of the amount effort and resources put into creating them

I understand that there are justifiably expensive Japanese polyester textiles, etc., etc. But nothing will ever change the fact that it's made from petroleum (OK, except in the rare cases when it's made of recycled plastic bottles--I do have a Patagonia fleece vest like that). On that basis alone, I prefer silk ... but I just can't believe that anything else can compete with fine-quality silk. I have a few really nice silk blouses, and people can definitely tell the difference, whether they know anything about fashion or not. Forget them ... I can tell the difference. I have never seen anything synthetic, or even something manmade from natural fibers, that can compete. Many fine wools are truly gorgeous in their own right ... and they're still not silk.
