Nicolas Andreas Taralis S/S 11 Paris
http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/show....hotos/id,9956#
Not entirely sure how to embed images here. Seeing if this will work. Credit Vogue.com Nicolas had a gap in his own label work having a spell at Cerruti and returning to showing in his own right last season. He occupies that Demuelemeester, Pugh, Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens et al territory but manages to bring a healthy dose of high octane sexiness without losing his edge and I like his work very much. An all black collection for spring summer is fine by me and testifies to the darkness of his heart. Last season Nicola Phelps wrote that he was showing signs of filling the void left by Helmut Lang which I'm not sure I understand too well. Whilst I'm all in favour of his positioning and he forms a nice introduction to some of what will follow in Paris, on first impression I would have liked to see him push the envelope a bit more with this collection. His positioning sort of requires he dare to originate a bit more if he's to continue to receive the plaudits. Leftfield but derivative doesn't really work but cool work nevertheless and a welcome addition to the schedule. |

unfortunately you can't save images from UK vogue's site because of the flash format.
i guess in a sense, they might be onto something with the helmut correlation because nicolas does have that sort of sharp and cool urban feel about his work. the only difference is that it's bit moodier.

Oh, there's a way to save images from vogue.uk, but it's a bit of a hassle. When viewing the HQ pictures of the collection, pause the slideshow, position the cursor over the image to magnify it and then open the options menu (I'm using a Mac so I press CTRL + mouse button; I think it's right click for PC users). Click on view frame source, scroll down a little, and look for this string:
var ExtraLargeSrc = "http://cdni.condenast.co.uk/1280x1920/Shows/SS2011/Paris/R-T-W/Nicolas_Andreas_Taralis/00010big.jpg"; It contains the address of the HQ version Just remove the quotation marks and semi-colon. Good luck!Last edited by Uemarasan : 29-09-2010 at 10:12 AM. |
