The beginning and end of the collection was quite good. Don't know what he was thinking with the sparkle and puffer vests of the middle though.

^^^Yeah, Theyskens was no Tisci.. he wasn't about goth via latex, his work evoked so much mysticism and like some of you said, poetry, it was very Belgian, not aimed at the Vogue Paris crew. I think that's what made him so remarkable, the fact that his collections had so much integrity, consistence and confidence.. this is everything but confident.. it's so fickle and desperate to appeal massively. Glitter, ridiculous shoes, vulgar shapes, that's Decarnin's job, along with Tom Ford and all of these characters, Olivier can do so much better and is capable of capturing women on a level that's less like a cartoon and more modern, dignified... and tasteful.

I don't feel the fragility from his earlier collections. That said I like this collection. It's immaculate.

I love this I think is a bit of a F you to Nina Ricci I am going to let it all go and be insane. Thank you for doing something interesting. I think that he might be returning to his gothy roots for his own 'theyskens' line.

FINALLY he is moving away from the sweet, fairytale like, Autumn colored injection of romance and is producing something new, alive, exciting and discussion-worthy. I am in love with this. The Mugler references are insane...complete with Westwood inspired Naomi-fell-down-in-'em-back-in-THE-days shoes. Screw the eighties...this is three decades of fashion pumped into one show getting ready for a fourth decade. That look on Anabela is absolutely perfect...it's a vision from an era many of us long to see return (at least the atmosphere, not necessarily the same styles) and to see it happening at a Theyskens show? Wow, that was unexpected. I LOVE fashion....
COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!!

Did you notice those shiffon pants with structed jackett!!

I mean, wow!!, the full collection is fantastic, much better than I thought by looking at random pieces, its strong, has a very, very clear message, its out there and I do see theyskens in it!!

Ahhhh la mode!!!!!

Can´t wait for a video!

PS: the way those girls legs look with those platforms makes every posible broken ancle worth the try, at the end fashion is all about proportions...

Those Magenta Shoes

My Eyes My Eyes!

That thing is HEINOUS!

How can anyone like it? Would ANYONE in their right minds (besides Victoria Beckham) wear that?!

I absolutely love this. It's so dramatic and the shoe looks incredible on the runway, it just heightens the drama of the collection even more. After the disappointment of Balenciaga, this most definitely makes up for that.

I can't believe none of the models fell in those shoes! I hope they offered them some kind of insurance because if one of them HAD fallen those were some damn leg breaking shoes. And it would be bad for a model to fall and break their leg on basically the first day of Paris fashion week!

i dont knwo what you guys are talkign about
its still insanely romantic
its just a different kind of romanticisim
not evenm half the collection is bedazzled, most of it is somber darks and mettalics
the shoes are extreme to a romantic point

i think this is by far his strongest collection to date

Thanks for the photos, dior_couture. And thanks for your comment, Spike.

I wasn't referring so much to the literal styles of his early work as I was talking about much tougher aura of his early looks. While not literal, the styles in this show evoked his early work moreso than, say, his first Nina Ricci collection. The connection is slight, but still there. It was just my immediate thought.

Additionally, evolution comes into play; and often times, people change drastically.

...I did't mean to offend either of you, seeing as how I respect both of you.
