lol you have to admit, the birds idea looks suspiciously similar
I knew it had a McQueen vibe to it! even the skeleton frames from the Arora collection smacks of McQueen or at least someone else whose work I've seen before but can't remember which collection.

McQueen did it better too. i wasn't about to sh*t on Arora's thread when I saw the latest collection, but at least designers like McQueen & Galliano had a story to tell with each collection. Arora's work I find capricious.

Roland Mouret S/S 12 collection just screamed Yves Saint Laurent S/S 11 to me. Especially this skirt:

This dress, also from the same collection, looks like it belongs in the Miu Miu F/W 11.12 collection:

And Balenciaga F/W 09.10. The peek-a-boo bra isn't anything original, but I instantly thought of this look:

Actually that Dior dress is a typical Galliano shape. He used it a few times, probably most recognisably here.

you cant really make a comparison between the same designer.....they have to have threads that make their collections coherent.

thats like saying:
ALexander McQueen Spring 2011 vs Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

are look alikes....they are not, they are a shape that the house reuse.

a version of those Lanvin Dresses and shapes can be seen in EVERY Alber collection.

I may be going out on a limb here, but seeing these Costume National looks today instantly made me think of Helmut Lang, Givenchy, and the McQueen dress that Liu Wen wore to the Met Gala...

Costume National Spring 2012

catwalking.com

Givenchy Fall 2009 Menswear

nymag.com

Helmut Lang Spring 2001

scanned by me from "Radical Fashion"

Alexander McQueen Fall 2011

I want to say that it's more of a trend or a technique, but I'm not quite sure what to make of it.
