yeah, like gareth, it is rick's first runway, they have both done men's stuff, just not independent, both should be great! I think Rick is mentoring Gareth, I know rick's wife is at least working on selling gareth's stuff to boutiques and helping him with production, i wonder if it was a joint move........What I wouldn't give for a side zip Rick Owen's Leather

I'm excited for:

Givenchy - Tisci's last menswear collection was one of the best of the season, and he looks to have some real talent.
Raf Simons - For me, the biggest excitement throughout the week.
Ann Demeulemeester - Her past couple of seasons for menswear and RTW have been great, can't wait to see more.
Damir Doma - The styling will be awesome, even if the clothes aren't.
Dior Homme - How will Kris mess everything up this time?
Gareth Pugh - I don't like his aesthetic, but I'm still excited-ish to see what he comes up with.
Rick Owens - So far his menswear is pretty awesome. I think that even if he sticks to what he's been doing, the show'll be fine.
Roland Mouret - Will he show this season?
Bernhard Willhelm - Not on the schedule, but I'm prepared to be impressed.
Yves Saint Laurent - Will it be another video again? Boo.

The full list of collections that I care about in any way:
Kilgour, Number (N)ine, Dries Van Noten, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons, Givenchy, Raf Simons, John Galliano, Ann Demeulemeester, Damir Doma, Hermès, Lanvin, Dior Homme, Julius, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Roland Mouret, Yves Saint Laurent, and Bernhard Willhelm.

i'm looking forward to the day we see boudicca on the men's calendar....interpretations of their women's translated onto men.

anyway, other than the gareth and hugo chat, simply cannot wait for BLAAK homme. my favourite menswear talents

I cannot wait for the new season! I'm so bored of everything this year is deffinately time for something new! I also love the fashion industries two fingers to this recession although its of note that a fashion giant like Valentino is sidetracking its menswear, and Mr Pugh who doesn't even have a boutique yet is fearlessly entering the mens wear arena, Economics really sorts the men from the boys. Im going to spend thousands next year!!!

speaking of the buzz, i'm not sure what t-shirts the article references to. i mean, look. gareth pugh is definitely not the designer to sell show pieces (these are hardly wearable. well, if you're not Roisin Murphy). i had an opportunity to meet some of his stuff in the shop and guess what? those jersey/lurex pieces were hardly anything close to what he showed. nowadays it's a normal practice (which is obviously sad) so i don't expect the menswear show to be an afflatus. another concept show to pull his raw b&w&nude aesthetic further. which is fun to watch, yet hard to consider as a real thing (please correct me if i mistaken).
speaking of the season at all, there's really not much fun. lanvin? some washed silks. givenchy? laces and religious memorabilia. van beirendonck? oh, don't let me start... i'm all up for surprises, but... wanting to see bruno pieters though.

oh honey that's like what, a season for each one you mentioned. there sooo much talent to what lucas and riccardo do at givenchy and lanvin...... but each with their own opinion.

^^Riccardo really started menswear at Givenchy last season ...
and it was not what i excepted of Givenchy menswear ... but it worked a lot in fashion magazines ... it seems a lot of editors love this collection ... by the way i wonder if Panos styled this collection ...anybody knows ?
i mean it was a 180turn from what Ozwald was doing ... and Givenchy should have kept Ozwald ! really !!! this man is talented ...
Riccardo is an A.D. ... he's not really a couturier ...

and though i can have a crush on certain Lanvin items, I pretty agree with j'adorekapusta ... moreover the price are insane ...
