Looks like it's in the early stages of catching whatever Gucci caught with Alessandro Michele.

Messy. I thought she was on to something with her Spring/Summer 2017 women's collection....but her Fall men's show and now this feels back to the old over-styling tricks.

This is the problem with so much fashion now - especially at these big brands - it's like every design department is internally fighting for attention...the shoe team is screaming for attention, the jewelry team is screaming for attention, the accessories team is screaming for attention, the collection team is screaming for attention...and then it all gets piled on and it's just a mess. Nothing can be appreciated because no one idea is given focus.

The production also feels so stuck. The Instagram-ready set, the schizo soundtrack (which I usually love from Frederic, but it's getting a bit formulaic), the stunt casting of #tbt girls, the requisite makeover haircuts on a handful of models, the kitchen-sink styling, etc. etc. It's all so familiar and it's all so stale. What does any of it say about anything?

First of all: MOHAIR!

I guess it's very difficult to do something really focused when you're picking so much elements from a lot of your past collections...

The corduroy part left from the Prefall referenced what she did for her FW93 collection.
Then, we have the mohair (!) ensemble from FW07,some touches of the current SS collection, the faces from SS14 on the fabrics of SS05, the coats from FW14, the "Great Gasby" inspired part from Prefall 09...etc.

I don't hate it. It's just over-styled. I see some very covetable pieces like the dress on Lineisy, the ensemble on Vittoria and the girl right after her, the dress on Amanda, the berets and the buckled pumps/sandals.

The over-the-knee boots feels very dated...very 2005. The inclusion of the gowns is really fresh for Prada.

The whole collection looks very Prada but also kind of ridiculous. When looking at it, i know that 90% of this will not be produced and it's something that has always been a frustration with Prada.

And Seriously, NO WOMAN ON EARTH WOULD WANT TO WEAR A MOHAIR ENSEMBLE OR DRESS!!!

On the runway, it's the first time since 1998. She did some "real eveningwear" in her Resort/prefall 09 but she has always been more about midi length than long gowns... So this is really fresh from her.
And it's kinda well executed considering how disastreous Prada Redcarpets are.

I agree that the styling is over the top, especially those looks with fur boots and bags but the outerwear is just so strong that conpensate everything for me. I personally think it's even better than last season if we focus on the individual pieces.

Apart there are some good pieces, put together its too much. Not as coherent as the spring collection, and who authorised those boots?!? I want to like it, but the styling is so cluttered

I LOVE the mohair. Those outfits are gorgeous. Really Prada, really cool!

The rest is just ugh. A big mess. So many old ideas together... It doesn't feel fresh. I don't like the set either.

Overall, a mess, but the mohair garmets are really pretty (I mean the tailored pieces, not the angora-like ones).

To my surprise I was really bored. This vision had much more impact at the men's show. Some looks were downright fugly.

Ι totally agree, and it's $hit. "Fashionistas" will lap it up though.

It's all a bit too cluttered for my taste! There are some immensely covetable pieces, most especially the coats! Her cocktail dresses are spectacular, especially that dress on Amanda Murphy, and are just aching to be worn on the red carpet!! The collection certainly has an interesting narative. There was something empowering around it! The look I personally found the best, though? The one she's wearing!

I love she went to her 2007 self, for the mold-into-shape styling, but expressing a careless stance. Fur blown great, on every single look. That's an achievement. Jackets, great wide proportion, for the slouchy attitude, so sick. Materials collage is genius touch, taken out the dusty side of 70s and made urbane. Color palette might be the most desirable one for me since spring 2011, all sort of pastel, cute, light tones pressed down by the earthy shades. I like light colors, but often hard to do without seen as childish and "adorable." This is done perfectly well, armed up, sexy, active. Decent gown options, for Prada is an outside of box touch. But thinking about how it would be dressed irl, they seem average. But they sure set the mood for the show, I'd see them as necessary evil in a way...

Unlike the reaction I've seen, it's so much better than the menswear one. Cut down the sweater quantity, thank you for that decision, whoever made it, they are really boring. Overall a glorious offer, bravo
