It's very hit or miss for me. I liked the first few looks. Then it got too stiff and plain ugly in the middle with all those leather pieces made of cutouts, but then it recovered toward the end again, starting with those dresses (the first one being on Jamie Bochert).

I agree with your take: I liked parts of this collection, the same ones you've identified, but I find it inconsistent overall. Basically I think their fall collection was much stronger and more coherent.

What is it with all this leather? It is supposed to be a S/S collection.
Other than that, the only criticism I can offer here, and not a particularly constructive one, is that is $hit is ugly. I pity the ones that will wear this mess.
Last two seasons were good, what happened.
Well I would say this collection looks like Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière aesthetic (since Balenciaga is not what it used to be on Cristobal's era)

Personally, I much prefer the second half where the silhouettes are not that bulky. The prints plus the patchwork plus the volume is a look that just doesn't work for me. So I was disappointed at first. The looks that are a bit closer to the body work wonderfully though, I like them a lot and I think those are some of the most original looks we've seen at NYFW so far.
