i didn't think alison's dress for the first challenge was great, but it wasn't bad either. i really liked some of the designs i saw from her intro and look book. i think the dress from the challenge was totally intune with her style, which i love. it was a simple dress, but it had interesting details... the gathering at the neckline and puffed, striped cap sleeve. it was sweet, but i agree not the best one. i hope to see more of her designs though.

it's funny that i'm keen on sweet alison's designs, but also love jeffrey's as well... some of the stuff they showed from his intro was so hot! the leather jackets rock! it's like he dresses the devil and alison dresses angels.

I sorta liked Alison's dress and i thought how nice it was that her model said that she would wear it in real life.

But according to Tim Gunn (and he should know) Alison's dress had fit issues.

Anyway, I am rooting for Michael from Atlanta all the way. I flove him.

^ I was rooting for Micheal too... but I don't think he makes it far in the competition. I hope he does.

I'm thinking Season 3 will have much better clothes than last year. I do think that the only people who really met the challenge were using unusual items from the apartment. I liked Keith's dress, but how hard is it to use a bedsheet/duvet? I think Laura showed more skill in making a coat with the fake fur collar/rug and taking apart whatever that metal thing was to make decorations for the coat. It was fun and whimsical to me. Hooray for the coffee filter dress! At least he showed imagination. A "leather" skirt from the bar stool? That's what the challenge was about. BTW, showing my age, there was a time about 15-20 years ago when "green" designers tried making paper clothes. The coffee filter dress is right there.

Edited to add" I loooove Tim Gunn. I think he is pansexual

not for me...it really had nothing to do with her own personality, though she seems very sweet. i just like the way it looked, i thoght it was cute and the colors were pretty. it did look washed out on tv, but i think it's just because of the lighting there. you can see the colors better in actual pictures, i think. i don't think it is particularly ill-fitting either, it's just not made to be skin-tight--it looks like it fits just fine to me (stacey's dress, on the other hand, was ill-fitting). there's not one part of it that i could rave about, i just think it's cute, unique, and interesting and at the same time easy to wear and i would love to own it.

First of all, love the glasses in the avatar.

2nd, the leather skirt was made from a large leather ottoman. You saw her strip the ottoman and talk about it.

Kayne was the one who used the vinyl from the bar stool and incorporated it into his dress.

Someone on TWOP pointed out that there are direct knockoffs of Giambattisa Valli, Lacoste spring 2006 collections in Keith's sketch portfolio.

from elle.com

1. Thank you.

2. Sorry for the error, you are quite right. I was half asleep when I watched it the first time. Saw a repeat last night and saw my error. Wondered how she had enought for a skirt

I can't decide whether Keith is just putting everyone on re not making women's wear or just gaming. I think gaming. Granted if he is a good tailor etc. he could make anything, but how would he really know proportions and what would look good on? I liked the dress tho I don't know about him.

Malan and his accent...I am waiting for him to get excited about something and use a different speaking voice.
