I'm not saying this is H&Ms fault, and what I said may be true to Norway moreso than other places, I dunno. I think the real "criminals" here are the ones that go shopping at H&M regulary (not meant as a negative, I do that too), that will throw themselves at anything that is "designer", just like people pay for basic t-shirts that have a big "D&G" printed on the chest (at least almost). Let's face it, some of the CDG-pieces are just plain... wierd, at least by H&M standards, but time will tell if these pieces will be picked up by the fashion-avant garde that actually loves fashion but can't afford to pick up "real" CDG or if the hype will lead to what I mention "oooh this is a designer garment, I must have it".
i think you're being a bit too harsh.
all the time people buy for the brand.
i come on this forum every day and people are all over louboutin, dior, givenchy, etc.
i mean is everyone here on this forum a millionaire?
for once H&M gives 'the common folk' the opportunity to own a designer item and that makes them criminals? come on now.

i agree!!!!!!!!!!! the lowest price for a main line CDG jacket is 700++++
the dress\coat was like 3.000+++++, the shirts are 200++++.
its really nice that some people that cant afford to buy CDG everyday will have this opportunity...

oh, and about the designs, Rei Kawakubo chose her "best of" as she said in an interview, my opinion, the designs are very well chosen even if we were expectinng something more avant garde, but they are going to be worldwide and some people are not into creative fashion design and maybe even this might scared them....

no no no, you misunderstood what I meant. I certainly didn't mean that, I don't own anything from CDG but I got lots of H&M, I'm 20, student, I can't afford comme de garçons unless I don't want to eat for a month. So I'm not trying to be arrogant here, it is a GOLDEN chance for all the fashion-concious to dip into the world without having to rob a bank! What I was "attacking" was the... not-so-fashion-concious that normally wouldn't pick these pieces up if they DIDN'T have a CDG-label on it.

obviously the way it's marketed people are going to check out the CDG collection at h&m if only out of curiosity.

but id rather laugh at the - rich and not so rich - people who buy real designer wear, those that buy the brand or the logo but would not even get a second look at it had it got a different tag on it.

(eg this forum, it's ALL ABOUT brand)

i'm not crazy about everything from the CDG h&m collection, but i'll go check it out.....probably for the brand.

boluda...i don't know what you are talking about...
this forum is not all about brands- designer or otherwise...

it's about indie designers, vintage, streetstyle, and mass market---
just as much as it is about designer..

if anything- the H&M thread and AA threads and the zara are some of the MOST popular in the shopping section...

this is definitely a VERY democratic place...
we have people from ALL over - all age groups, all income brackets, all different styles, etc..

sure- there are some people who are sucked in by the designer label...
but..most of us here know that the label is just a piece of fabric and we all pretty much agree that you cannot BUY style..

here are closeup images of the suit and the 350$ dress coat from nitrolicious.com. looking at the closeup images makes me think the construction of the dress-coat is not at all worth it. it looks laughable to me actually.

Could someone tell me the difference between the drop crotch shorts here? They both say wool shorts & are listed the same price...
http://www.nitrolicious.com/blog/200...hm-collection/

Also here if you scroll to the clothes not on the models they show two different drop crotch shorts... or is one the back view?
http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums...-67005-24.html

Thanks.
Just wondering... I dont know why though because like I said I have no clue how I could get ahold of them.

They are the same, CDGs classic old boilled wool technic...which i think this kind of clothes will look terrible in this collaboration unfortunately!

I have to say I am not interested about this at all... or, to be more specific, I was interested when I first heard of it, but when I saw the actual pieces... it is just basic H&M in more expensive prices. I just have a feeling that if this was for example... Matthew Williamson for H&M people wouldn't be this excited here. Kawakubo might be a great, legendary designer but this to me seem just to be a PR campaign, a way to get more moolah for Rei.
