I wish those girls would take over at Dior so they'd be forced to glam it up a bit and do something more fierce and whimsical again. I feel like they've been stuck in doing this heavy & rustic kind of look that I strongly dislike for the past few seasons. They're so talented but at the moment it looks like they're going nowhere. How does their business even survive, they haven't put out anything that's easily wearable and affordable in ages. I don't really see anything that wows me in this collection.
a boring collection, this is so random. I used to wait a lot their shows that I always considered ad the most exciting of the NYFW. I miss the edgy silhouettes, the killer shoes, the fierce gowns and the little twist which was inspired by gore movies or Japanese culture.
Is this the new Rodarte? Frumpy, granny chic? I wish they would showcase more of their romantic drapery. I miss their darker undertones. They were once innovative and had interesting ideas and direction. To me, Rodarte is now the artsy-fartsy of fashion.
Once they were distinctive, now they're fading into the background
Once they were rad, now they're conservative
I guess it's a well worn path isn't it - be artfully leftfield in the start-up years to get the editorial exposure and the early adopters to create you some cache, a Name. Then, off the back of that - sell out.
Call it a scooby-doo moment. You know - when the villian is unmasked and their true identity revealed. It was all just a strategic ruse. And hoodwinked, we bought it. Just a pair of businesswomen disguised as arty creatives but now we've seen behind the curtain and there's nothing there, not even a fake wizard. A sad moment indeed.

I completely agree. I think their four collections from Spring 2008 to Fall 2009 were their strongest. This prairie thing has become too mundane & just plain ugly. I would love to see them unleash their gothic side again.
